OUR MISSION:
"We engage youth in global travel workshops that educate, enrich and empower young adults while fostering cross-cultural friendships leading to peace among future generations."

What We Do

The shared mission of the International Youth Friendship and Development Program (IYFDP) in partnership with Women Empowering Nations (please make Women Empowering Nations a hyperlink to www.WENations.org) is to engage youth in global travel workshops that educate, enrich and empower young adults while fostering cross-cultural friendships leading to peace among future generations.

The International Youth Travel Seminar Program is a youth partnership and educational seminar with American and International students. This program, in its ninth year, has sent American high school students on a United States Freedom Tour, to the Bahamas, South Africa, Cuba, Brazil, and The Gambia where they were able to engage in educational opportunities expanding their world view.

Through the International Youth Travel Seminar, students participate in educational outreach and cultural programming to bring attention to health, social and educational problems around the world. A campaign for peace, justice, conflict resolution, and human rights is a major component for student learning. This program also provides global peer education opportunities to help reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS worldwide.

The 2012 International Youth Travel Seminar, Genocide Prevention and Global Human Rights Awareness, will include travels to The Netherlands, South Africa, and Rwanda, visiting apartheid and genocide museums and sites, learning about the turmoil of ethnic conflicts from victims of war, visiting local schools to build relationships with students, and participating in community service programs in each country.
